Eat This To Burn 30% More Calories

Hey, it’s Coach Josh, and I want to talk about my Thermal Burn Technique to burn a LOT more calories during the day—I’m talking about up to 30% more calories from some foods. I also want to reveal my top 55 high-protein foods.

My Thermal Burn Technique works like this: nutrient-dense foods tend to be more complex. Take proteins, for instance. It takes more energy for your body to digest and use proteins than it does for simpler foods like sugars. The thermic effect of protein is the highest of all foods.

After eating protein, your metabolic rate will increase by approximately 30 percent. In other words, if you eat 100 calories of protein, 30 of those will be burned just digesting and using the protein. By comparison, the thermic effect of carbohydrates is typically around 10 percent, and fat is just 5 percent.

Proteins are primarily used as our body’s building blocks. They are most abundant in animal products—lean meats, eggs, and low-fat cottage cheese are great protein sources. (For you vegetarians out there, protein is also found, to a lesser degree, in beans, nuts, and various grains.) Proteins are found in every cell in our bodies. Our muscles, hair, skin, nails, hormones, and blood all contain protein. And protein is extremely important both to our overall immunity and health.

Protein is also an extremely important (but often overlooked) fat-loss nutrient. Why? Proteins (along with resistance exercise) actually help your body change shape by adding muscle and increasing your metabolism. Remember, the point isn’t just to lose weight. The point is to lose fat and increase muscle.

With all is this in mind, here are my top recommended high-protein foods. Please be sure to choose grass-fed beef, cage-free chicken meat and eggs, and other organic meats whenever possible to avoid hormones and other unnatural additives.

High-Protein Foods

With that said, you don’t have to limit your diet to just protein in order to burn belly fat fast.  In fact, you can actually eat certain “forbidden” foods to accelerate your fat loss… the key is knowing which ones to choose.

  1. I received my bottles of leptipro and also a lovely tasting cookie. Doesn’t it have a lot of carbs for 1 cookie? How many carbs should a person eat in a day on a high protein diet and on leptipro to loose weight fast?

    • Hi Jami,

Thanks so much for reaching out to us and offering us the opportunity help! You should have received a copy of Joel’s Fat-Burning Hormone Diet with your purchase of LeptiBurn. (Note: I’ll also be following up with an e-mail directly to you with a copy of the book in the case that you did not receive it.)

As you’ll be able to glean from the Fat-Burning Hormone Diet, we recommend cycling your carbohydrate intake. That is, we think that you’ll get the best results by alternating days of lower carbohydrates with a couple days of higher carbohydrates. That being said, we still recommend that you include the cleanest sources of carbohydrates no matter if it’s a low- or high-carb day. The one exception would be your “cheat day,” when you have access to all of your favorite, not-so-clean foods.

As far as the Protein Cookies, we are very glad that you enjoyed the sample! Overall, the Cookies only have 14 grams of net carbs per cookie and only six grams of sugar. For a high-protein cookie, this is an exceptional nutritional profile. These would fit in perfectly in the Fat-Burning Hormone Diet on the high-carb day.

I hope this helps, Jami. Good luck and please keep us posted with your results and feedback!

  2. Hi there,

Great article listing the protein foods. I’m using Leptiburn and eating well and its working very well! One query however, are you able to advise on some sauces etc which are OK to use e.g. salad dressing, or marinades for meats etc?

    Regards
    Russell

    • Hello Russell,

Thank you for taking the time to read our blog and for sharing your success with us. We are glad that you found LeptiBurn.

Making our food taste great helps us maintain healthy eating habits. Using condiments appropriately can provide a wonderful treat.
Our condiments should be nutrient-rich, which will help keep us on track toward our health and fitness goals.

Pesto, hummus, guacamole, and mustard all provide phytontutrients, vitamins, minerals, and fiber that will help make you more awesome. Also, salsa, tzatziki, chutney, and many others can also be good choices.

If you want to make a quick homemade salad dressing, try using equal parts extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Then, add herbs and spices like garlic and basil for a little flair. Experiment with other herbs and spices, too. You can even blend in roasted tomatoes. Homemade options will be far superior to most store-bought brands, which are often loaded with artificial ingredients and preservatives, sugar, and inflammatory fats (i.e., soybean oil).

As for marinades, you can do much of the same. You will generally use an oil (i.e., extra virgin olive oil), an acid (i.e., balsamic vinegar, lemon, lime, tamari, soy sauce, etc.), and an accompaniment of herbs and spices. The latter can completely change the game. For example, you could add chile, lime, scallions, and cilantro for a Mexican flair. Simply replacing ginger for the lime will make it more of a Thai dish. There’s a book called “Ethnic Cuisine” that details these worldly flavor combinations quite well.

When choosing a condiment use these three guidelines. First, it should be mostly made of real foods. Second, if the condiment is a fat source, try to ensure that it is providing healthy fats. Third, it has to taste good!

      Best Regards
